February: St. Anthony of Padua

About Me:

I was born into a wealthy family in Lisbon, Portugal in 1195. After joining a Franciscan Order, I became friends with St. Francis of Assisi. I spent most of my life teaching students and sharing the Catholic faith as simply as I could so that anyone could understand. I was declared a Doctor of the Church by Pope Pius XII in 1946.

Pray with Me:

St. Anthony, you were greatly admired by others for your child-like qualities of innocence, trust and goodness. I ask you now to intercede for me before God for the children I entrust to your heavenly care (mention names here). Keep them safe from danger. Protect them from illness, disease and harm, and from the unfortunate influence of those who would lead them astray. Help them grow in faith and wisdom, and to become admirable daughters and sons of our Heavenly Father. Shield them from the presence and effects of evil in our world. May they experience daily the tender compassion and care of our Loving God, who gave them breath and life, and whose image they bear. Amen.
