Daily Reflections, June 09, 2023. (Mk12 : 35-37)

* Jesus Is The Messiah *

The Hebrew word "Messiah" means "Anointed." The Jewish people were waiting for a king of David's lineage (2 Sam 7:12) who would free Israel from the bondage of foreigners and restore its glory.

In today's Gospel passage, David inspired by the Holy Spirit said, "The Lord said to my Lord, sit at my right hand till I place your enemies under your feet"

There is no doubt that this scripture is about Jesus, the Messiah, the "Son of David" and the Son of God. He is equal to God's power, majesty and glory.

May Christ the Messiah put all your enemies under your feet and grant you a day with God in His kingdom. Amen.

Sacred Heart of Jesus thy kingdom come!

"And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”(Mt 28:20)

One of the best way Jesus through which the Lord is always with us, the sacraments, mainly the sacrament of the Eucharist.

St. Chrysostom tells us that, in the Eucharist, Christ is present... He, that was crucified for us, Christ Himself, prepares this very table and makes the sacrificial gifts become His Body and Blood. (Homily on the Treachery of Judas).

It is all about God's power and grace!

Tonight, may we receive peace, healing, grace and protection by the power of all the Eucharistic celebrations throughout the world in Jesus mighty name. Amen.

Good night under God's protection.

*Christ the Sovereign Eternal Sacrifice*

Today we focus on the office of Christ as the Sovereign Eternal Sacrifice. Jesus is the model for all Christians, especially priests. We pray for all priests who act daily in the persona of Christ. May we, as priests, be compassionate and trustworthy following the example of Jesus (He 2:17). May we remain good intercessors for the people before God, for we share the eternal priesthood of Christ, the only mediator between God and mankind (He 7:25).

We rejoice today because we have all been saved because of Christ’s one and only sacrifice, offered once and for all (He 10:12-14). Like Abraham, we are called to give total obedience to God. Jesus Himself is the model of perfect obedience to His Father. May the eternal priesthood of Jesus be our daily source of comfort and salvation!

We are saved through obedience (Rom 5:17)

Sacred Heart of Jesus thy kingdom come!

Gratitude gives you peace!

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."

Please, recall God's blessings for this day and see how ever-present he has been everything around you. I'm certain, tomorrow, you will wake up more strengthened, renewed, positive, joyful, confident, faith-filled and blessed.

Be grateful, God loves you!

Good night under God's protection!

God of the living

The most important event in our Christian life is the resurrection of Christ (2 Cor. 15:14). By rising Christ has conquered the grave and sin, which is the cause of our spiritual death. God is the God of the living, simply means that, he is the God of abundant and eternal life. Even though, our future might be unknown, it is nothing to fear, because when we encounter God, whatever that is dead in our existence is revived and receives life.

”For he is not a God of the dead, but of the living: for all live unto him"

Sacred heart of Jesus, May your kingdom come.

Have a blessed day!

They will not overcome you.

"They will fight against you but will not overcome you, for I am with you and will rescue you" (Jer. 1:19)

In spite of hostile and dark forces, opposition and hatred because of the Lord (Mt. 5:12), you will not be defeated.

The Lord will be with you to rescue you even from the lion's den (Dan. 6).

Like Jeremiah who resisted his opponents with the power of faith, may we be the light that shines in the darkness all around us!

May the Lord deliver you from all evil!

Have a good night under God's protection!

Daily Reflection: 06 June, 2023, St. Norbert

Serenity in the Lord

"An evil report he shall not fear; his heart is firm, trusting in the LORD."

Seeing how many of us are often devastated when evil reports and bad news hit us, today's responsorial psalm strengthens our serenity in God by trusting him with all our heart (Cf. Prov 3:5-6). Job is an example of such serenity. When he heard about all bad news about his fortune and children, he remain calm. We also see how martyrs resisted tortures with an amazing peace in their hearts. Such a virtue demonstrates the good conscience before God. No wonder Shakespeare wrote: "Virtue is bold, and goodness never fearful"

True faith in God and genuine love of God, those elements which animated St. Norbert life, cast out the fear of any evil tidings and set the heart our fixed in the Lord.

Sacred heart of Jesus, may your kingdom come

"Peace I leave with you, my peace I give you...Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid" (John 14: 27).

Peace as a fruit of the Holy Spirit (Gal.5:22-23), is the assurance that God is by your side. It's indeed living out by such conviction. Whatever problem you are going through, smile and know that God is next to your side no matter what. Be at peace!

Peaceful night under divine Providence!

Daily Reflections, 05 June 2023. Tobit 1:3, 2:1a-8; Mk12: 1-12.

Tobit whose name means "God is Good" (2Cor 9:8) teaches us something very important. Being filled with faith or following God's precepts does not immunize us from pain or suffering or problems, or risk his life.

In spite of Tobit's poor conditions of life, he remained faithful to God, for God is faithful. In times of adversities and troubles may we always remind ourselves that our "God is Good all the time"

Thank you Father for this Good News!

Sacred heart of Jesus, May your kingdom come!

"I am the first and I am the last; apart from me there is no God" (Isaiah 44:6).

Let us bow to the Holy and immortal God.

Father all glory to you, who out of love created me in God's image and likeness.

Honour and glory to you, O God the Son, Who by His Precious Blood delivered me from hell, and opened for me the gate of heaven.

Glory be to the Holy Spirit, Who has sanctify me of Baptism, and continues to sanctify me by his graces.

Glory to the Holy Trinity now and for ever. Amen.

Daily Reflections, Sunday 04 June 2023. The Holy Trinity

The Holy Trinity is the Foundation of our Faith: God is One in its essence, but in three distinct persons, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. This is the truth about God revealed by God Himself. He is a Family of love.

A close look at our existence shows that the Trinity is our identity. We are baptized and blessed in the name of the Holy Trinity. We worship the Trinity. When we die, we will be commanded to the loving hand of the Holy Trinity, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. The whole project of God is that, we may all enter into this perfect communion of love and friendship with Him and with one another.

Lord may your spirit help us to be a loving, united, caring, truthful and supportive family!

Happy feast of the Holy Trinity!

Trusting in the Holy Trinity

Faith in God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit is a powerful weapon that overcomes anxieties and life's uncertainties. When our lives feels out of control, unsure, unsafe, confusing, scary, and hopeless, trusting and entrusting ourselves to the unfailing and loving God is the Solution. A great relief!

Prayer: Lord God, you know everything about me. Like David in Ps 31, I have come to you for help, direction and protection for I fully trust in you.

Bless me in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Good night!

*Daily Reflections, 03 June 2023. Saint Charles Lwanga and his 21 companions, Martyrs of Uganda.*

St. Charles and his 21 companions aged between 13 and 50 from Uganda - Africa, are an inspiration of faith and boldness for us all today. Such a spirit is only possible if we accept to become *"poor in spirit"* (Mt 5:3).

Let us be true witnesses of our Christian faith even to our last breath, for the blood of the martyrs is never a failure, but eternal life and a seed of Christians. "Neither death nor life will be able to separate us from the love of God” (Rom 8:39).

*Sacred heart of Jesus, may your kingdom come!*

Blessed week and feast the martyrs of Uganda!

"For he will command his angels concerning you in all your ways" (Ps 91:11)

These words are addressed to everyone who trusts in the Lord. Indeed they dwell in his shelter. Such people are guaranteed to rest in the shadow of the Almighty. No terror of the night shall they fear! No arrows that flies by day shall threaten them!

Daily Reflections, 02 June 2023 - Mark 11:11-26; Sir 44:1,9-13.

By cursing the fig tree , cleansing the temple, Jesus strongly exhort us to become aware of our Christian responsibilities. We must give heed to the warnings and exhortations of the Lord. Also, we must become eager in bearing the fruits of God's kingdom.

This necessarily compels us build up our lives by

co-operating with God's grace everyday. My dear Sisterand Brother, be faithful and watchful! Be fruitful andmultiply. (Gen 1:28) That is what you are called for. Always make a difference as a child of God!

At each Eucharist, I lay down the burdens of all your worries and anxieties! I consecrate you and your family to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through the Immaculate Heart of Mary! Daily Reflections, 01 June 2023. St Justin Martyr

With St Justin, one of the most important Church's Fathers and Greek apologists, we can learn that, there are many schools of philosophy, but only one is truly sure, profitable and worthy to die for: the philosophy of Jesus Christ. That is the philosophy based on Faith, The Truth and The Love. Here, we are saved for eternal life. "Go, your faith has saved you" (Mk 10: 52).
