Tuition Assistance 2025-2026
December 16, 2024
Dear Holy Redeemer Tuition Assistance Families,
Beginning with the next school year, we will be implementing a new procedure for receiving assistance with tuition for Catholic School Tuition. This procedure will follow the application process used by most other parishes and recommended by the Diocese of Lansing.
We are requiring that all families seeking assistance from this point forward, to apply to the Diocese of Lansing for assistance first. The Diocese provides assistance based on financial need through diocesan grants and through grants and scholarships from The Venerable Augustus Tolton grant and the Saint Jose Luis Sanches del Rio scholarship. You will not be eligible for assistance from the parish if you have not applied to the diocese first.
In order to be eligible for assistance from the Diocese, you must apply to the Diocese by filling out an application using the FACTS financial aid application online between Dec. 1, 2024 and Mar. 3, 2025. After March 3, you will no longer be eligible for assistance from the diocese but may be eligible for some other form of assistance from the schools directly. This application has a fee of $35 but if you are not able to afford this fee, contact the parish office for assistance with it. The application can be accessed: at:: https://dolcatholicschools.org/affording-catholic-education
A letter of determination from the diocese will be sent to the families by May 30, 2025. After the diocese has made their determination, Holy Redeemer will then determine any additional assistance from the parish to those families requesting such by filling out the application questionnaire which you will receive via email. This application to the parish must be completed by March 31, 2025.
We will continue to require that you be an active member of the parish and contribute your time, talent, and treasure. Your application questionnaire will help us with this evaluation. You will also be required to meet with Fr. Georges in April to discuss in your commitment to the parish as has been done in the past.
If you have any questions regarding this new procedure, please contact me at the parish office.
Yours in Christ,
Norbert Dlugokinski, Business Manager
