Important Information

At least one of you must be Catholic at the time of your wedding.

If so, continue reading.

Weddings are normally done on Saturdays
1. A full mass starts at 1:00 pm
2. Without a mass starts at 1:00 or 1:30 pm
Some documentation is required
1. Current baptismal certificates from baptized parties.
2. Certificates MUST be no more than 6 months old to the date of the wedding.
  1. Simply call the parish of your baptism and request an up-to-date copy be sent to Holy Redeemer
The State of Michigan requires a marriage license
1. It can be applied for no sooner than 30 days and no longer than 10 days prior to the wedding day.
2. The license must be given to the wedding coordinator at your wedding rehearsal which is usually the Friday evening before your wedding day.
Fees
1. Church: $200 for a parishioner - $500 for a non-parishioner
2. Presider: No Mass with a Deacon - $200 OR Mass with a Priest - $250
3. Music: $200 - $400 depending on music requested
You and your fiancé will begin the marriage preparation process for receiving the Holy Sacrament of Matrimony.
1. This process is for you to do together
  1. To strengthen your relationship with one another
  2. To strengthen your relationship with God
  3. To give you tools to help your marriage last forever.
THE DURATION OF THIS PROCESS VARIES BUT TYPICALLY TAKES ABOUT ONE YEAR
